Ormiston College is an independent school educating over 1,000 students from Prep to Year 12. The site includes over 50 buildings and has undergone a number of expansion projects since its beginnings in 1988. As an institution entrusted with the care of young people, security is a top priority for the teachers, administrators, leaders, and families at Ormiston College.
Problem
Rapid Protection Australia was appointed by Ormiston College to deliver high-level security solutions to new and existing buildings. The client had previously appointed a security contractor that was unable to provide the detailed level of service and comprehensive support required for this job.
Due to the nature of the education sector, it was paramount that the solution provided long-term value with a primary focus on safety of the students and staff. The solution also needed to integrate seamlessly with existing technology and not disrupt school operations while in session.
Solution
Our team was required to upgrade existing security systems such as Access Control, Intruder Detection, Public Address and Bell features. These upgrades were completed during the school holidays, to minimise disruptions to students’ learning. Secondly, we were tasked with the design and installation of purpose-fit security systems throughout newer parts of the school – including state-of-the-art Alarms and rigorous Lockdown protocols.
Finally, our team provided on-site training and information for school administrators. Our goal was to help Ormiston College make the most of its security systems, and to integrate new technology with existing databases, such as the school’s Microsoft Active Directory. Today, our team provides Ormiston College with ongoing service, maintenance, and peace of mind.
