As formerly the tallest skyscraper in the southern hemisphere, the Q1 tower is an iconic landmark on the Gold Coast – providing permanent residences, a hotel, event spaces and more on its 78 floors.
Problem
Initially starting out as a quote for new cameras, Rapid Protection quickly realised that Q1’s security systems were in need of a full redesign. The system was nearly 15 years old, and the team knew how valuable an updated system would be to vastly improve efficiencies site-wide.
As one of the tallest buildings in Australia, Q1 needed a fully integrated system that would help the high-rise manage its multiple entities all on one streamlined access control system.
Solution
In a collaborative process with the existing IT company, the Rapid Protection team installed a state-of-the-art Inner Range Integriti Access Control system along with Milestone VMS and Hikvision CCTV cameras. Over 100 cameras were installed building-wide.
High-level integrations to the hotel and booking software were implemented, including check-in automation and key card permissions-granting based on location. Today Q1 enjoys a secure premise with efficient operations that benefit residents, guests and staff.
